Be inspired by the power of the memorized Word of God

Saturday, 4/12/14   //  Scholastic Auditorium   //  7:00pm

Sponsored by Christian Union, the evening will feature unforgettable presentations by students who will creatively bring God’s Word to life,  making the Word of God even more real to everyone who attends.

You can view last year's winning entry—plus the finalist entries from the 2013 contest, here.

The spokenWord 2014 Challenge is designed to encourage Ivy League students, guests who attend the Finale, and all who will watch the presentations online, to discover the value and beauty of memorizing God's Word. Students—or teams of up to four students—who enter the contest and are selected as finalists will present, in a creative spoken word format, from memory, a Biblical text from one particular passage or from a range of passages in the Old and/or New Testaments.

Keren Rohe, Harvard '13, wrote about her experience in the 2012 contest.

The presentations will be judged, and a winner selected, at the conclusion of the evening. As the judges deliberate, guests will enjoy uplifting music.

The Public is Invited to Attend

Individuals, Families and Groups will want to make this event part of their preparation for the Easter season. The Finale will begin at 7:00 pm on April 12th. Doors open at 6:00 pm.

Tickets will be available, beginning in January, for $10 each.

Students are Invited to Enter

Undergraduate students who attend one of the seven Ivy League schools where Christian Union has a leadership development ministry (Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Cornell, Penn, Princeton and Yale) are invited to enter. The contest guidelines will be available here starting in December.
