Greetings from Dartmouth!

We started spring term out right! Every Friday we have our weekly Leadership Lecture Series (LLS) in which Dartmouth students gather to worship God, listen to a thought provoking lecture, and enjoy community with one another.  For the first Leadership Lecture Series of the term, which happened to fall on Good Friday, we had over 120 students fill Filene Auditorium! That is the most we have had at our LLS and we thank God that he continues to build great Christian community here with Christian Union at Dartmouth. This night really set the pace for the rest of the term as we continued to see over 70 students as our weekly average. It’s great to see people excited and energetic about being challenged in their faith and to share that experience with others. Please do pray that the Lord continues to use our Friday night LLS to bring new students in to observe the vibrancy of the Christian community here at Dartmouth College.

Late April gave us the Wheelock Conference. This is an annual conference that happens every spring term that wrestles through the issues of faith and vocation. This year the topic was “Who Am I? Faith, Identity and Vocation.” The keynote speaker was author Eric Metaxas who is a graduate of Yale University. If you haven’t heard him speak, you owe it to yourself to check him out. He mainly talked about how people are really starving for truth and how we shouldn’t hesitate to speak this truth that we have in Jesus Christ. This message was very timely for our students. Overall, the reaction to the conference was overwhelmingly positive as many students said it was their favorite Wheelock Conference so far as Dartmouth students. So, let’s praise God for another successful Wheelock Conference and for the continued work the conference’s effect is having in our students’ hearts. Also, I hope the alumni among us enjoyed coming back and partaking in the day!

The rest of the term seems to be bringing a lot of sunshine. It’s been beautiful here the past few weeks as the weather is warm and the flowers are blooming (finally!). We have a few more events to look forward to before the end of the term, so please be in prayer that the students continue to engage as a community even amidst the increasing demands of school and summer looming on the horizon. One event held recently by Christian Union at Dartmouth was our annual Field Day. The day was a lot of fun for the students to head to Storrs Pond, hang out with one another and enjoy some fun and relaxation before finals. Not only was it a fun day but also a great outreach opportunity, and a time to let loose with the Christian community.

Thank you for your prayers and support for the Christian Union ministry here at Dartmouth College.

Soli Deo Gloria,
