Thank you for your faithful, seasoned prayers for the work of God through Christian Union New York! The purpose of our prayers may be best summarized by Elisabeth Elliot: “Prayer lays hold of God’s plan and becomes the link between his will and its accomplishment on earth. Amazing things happen, and we are given the privilege of being the channels of the Holy Spirit’s prayer.”

In this confidence, Christian Union NY asks you to please pray that His will may be done right here in NYC, as we all expectantly hope for amazing things to continue happening in the lives of leaders who are on fire for Christ!

Please pray for 20 CU Universities alumni who are moving to NYC to begin their professional careers! CU New York believes that there are two times in life in which people are particularly vulnerable spiritually—in the transition from high school to college, and from college to a new city and job. Churches, friends, and work can become overwhelming, and work culture and colleagues are often unhealthy. In a city like NYC, some professionals go years without strong Christian friends.

The Lord has called CU NY to intercede in this devastating trajectory through a new alumni mentorship initiative that aims to set these recent grads on the right path as they begin the next chapter of their lives. We envision that all Christian alumni from Christian Union’s nine universities coming into NY every summer will have the opportunity to make lifelong Christian friendships, have guidance in finding a church that is a good fit for them, receive free mentorship opportunities, and participate in spiritually intense retreats, conferences, and intellectually stimulating events with Christian leaders.

  • Please pray that rather than the faith gauntlet NYC has proven to be in the past, NYC will become the strongest spiritual place in these alumni’s lives!
  • Please pray that each of these 20 alumni will taste and see the Lord’s goodness in providing for all of their needs in this new season of life.
  • Please pray for an upcoming meet and greet dinner on August 25th, that the Lord would begin forming deep Christian friendships among these alumni.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”

 1 John 5:14
