Dear CU Gloria Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

Nostalgia: a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.

Greetings from Cambridge!

I have had the privilege of watching a lot of senior skits through the years, but the underclassmen who impersonated their beloved senior friends the other day were truly next level. In several scenes and for fifteen minutes their silly lines and exaggerated gestures wonderfully captured each person’s personalities and idiosyncrasies.

As I enjoyed this playful roasting I also noticed small waves of nostalgia beginning to wash over my soul. This thoughtful and very funny ritual was cementing the bond that many students feel with this community. These fleeting moments may one day seem like an apparition, but they are in fact a substantive enacting of what is often invisible. Our relationships and our belonging in Christ are arguably what matters most. In future meetings, Douglass will no longer be here to ensure that everything is in working order and Chinaza's steady and cheery leadership will be sorely missed. But that’s ok. They and many other seniors have invested in something that is eternal and eternity will be their reward.

All of that said, we are occasionally blessed with the bodily return of our alumni! On Good Friday, an Alumni Panel reflected on their time at Harvard and beyond. It was rather powerful and I encourage you to listen in.

Prayer Requests

Please keep our students in mind as they work hard to finish their classes. Some are overwhelmed as they stare down the papers and exams that are due in the next two weeks. As we say farewell to our seniors we are already welcoming the class of 2026. Many of our students hosted prefrosh at Visitas and our first-year outreach leaders will be following up with dozens of matriculating students.

Looking ahead:

  • We are excited to study Daniel this summer as a community. We will be inviting our far away friends and prefrosh to Zoom in with the locals. Please pray for great connections and a rich study of the Word.
  • Should we stay or should we go? We are resuming our quest for a longer-term, dedicated office space and would appreciate your prayers for a suitable and affordable rental.

Blessings in Christ,

Don Weiss
