Dear CU Nova Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

It’s summertime in Princeton! Seeing the beauty of the season in full bloom I’m reminded of the Psalmist who wrote “The earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord” (Psalm 33:5). The whirlwind of the spring 2022 term may be over, yet the work of Christian Union Nova continues.

As the spring term closed, we invited thirty-two students from Christian Union campuses to spend two weeks with us in Northfield, Massachusetts at the inaugural Spiritus Conference. What an incredible experience to worship in the historic home of D.L. Moody. Through morning and evening teaching sessions, Spirit-filled worship, and engaging in community over meals and candid prayer, students experienced the powerful love of Jesus.

By the end of Spiritus, a majority of students pledged to practice Daniel Spirituality including morning and evening devotions, fasting twice a week, drawing closer to God on Sundays, devoting one full day to God each month, participating in a robust Christian conference twice a year, and seeking God in a bolder way. We’re seeing God’s blessing in the work we do, not only at Spiritus but through our work in the Melrose Center:

  • More than 70% of students report experiencing God's presence during Bible courses.
  • 2/3 of students make friends through Christian Union who become significant influencers while at Princeton (and beyond).
  • Students feel comfortable opening up to ministry fellows and one another about personal matters and spiritual questions.

Would you join us in praying for these needs at CU Nova?

  1. That our graduates will “hold on to the pattern of sound teaching [they] have heard” (2 Tim. 1:13) as they transition into God’s next steps. Join me in praying they will continue to grow in Christ, in their alone times with God, and in a supportive community. Let’s pray the seeds of faith become deeply rooted and continue to grow.
  2. Pray for students returning from Spiritus 2022 that they will continue to grow into their commitment to Daniel Spirituality.
  3. For incoming freshmen: Pray the new students who come to Princeton this fall will connect with our Christian Union Nova community and experience Christ, many for the first time.
  4. For Christian Union Nova faculty. When leaders exemplify the gospel, we give students an example and the language to live like Christ. Would you pray we will continue to devote ourselves completely to Christ’s work among the students at Princeton University, and we will stand against the works of the enemy through the power of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. Your partnership empowers us to continue the work of ministry in an environment primed for revival.

Blessings,

Dr. Chris Coppernoll
Ministry Director
