Dear CU Caritas Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

Thank you for your prayers for CU Caritas at Stanford! We are seeing much fruit from our freshman welcoming campaign! In addition to supporting our student leaders in distributing over 500 welcome bags to freshmen, Susan, our women’s ministry fellow, and I have been holding many one-on-one meetings with students to get to know them, to pray for them, and to invite them to join Bible Courses and ministry events.

Three praises I’d like to share with you:
  1. I recently had a great lunch meeting with two freshman guys from the same dorm who are signed up for Bible Course. I asked them how much of the Bible they’ve read, and they both said, “Only what I’ve heard read to me at church or by my parents growing up.” Reading through Colossians at our first Bible Course this past Sunday night was the most of the Bible they’ve ever read, at one time, on their own initiative! At the end of our lunch we decided to read Mark 1, and they want to meet Tuesday for lunch each week, and spend part of our time reading broadly through parts of the New Testament! Praise God for these two students and their growing hunger and excitement for the Lord.
  2. After a meeting with another new student, I asked him if I could pray for him. He opened up about a really hard breakup two weeks ago. We had read through the first part of Colossians together, so he said he wanted to memorize the Christ Hymn (Col 1:15-20), and treasure his relationship with Christ over other relationships in his life. He’s stoked about finding a community in Bible Course, and very aware of his need for a community of brothers and drawing near to Christ! Praise God that He has given us the privilege of helping build this community for this student!
  3. In all, just over 100 new students have expressed interest in hearing more about Christian Union Caritas through our outreach initiatives so far at the beginning of this academic year!
Prayer requests:

We are asking you to help us pray that the students have awesome fellowship in the Word and that the Spirit would be powerfully present among us as our Bible Courses begin. Also, please pray for a student who is not a believer, but is meeting with me. He said he knows that God loves him and has been looking out for him time and time again. He thinks this God is Jesus, but wants to know more. Pray that this student will find the answers he is looking for and that God would work through various connections to bring him to our community, where we can share the gospel and the love of Christ with him. Pray not just for this student, but for every student on Stanford’s campus who longs to know who God is!

We are so grateful for your partnership in prayer. If you haven’t already, please consider giving a one-time or recurring gift to make Christ known at Stanford by using the secure link here:

We are so blessed by you, as we couldn’t do this without you and your support!

Warmly in Christ,
