At Christian Union Caritas, we are so grateful for how God has been speaking to us through His Word and by His Spirit! This past month, our Bible courses finished our 10-week study of Colossians. During each course’s final sessions, students cited the supremacy of Christ in 1:15-20, Paul’s critique of the empty philosophies of this world in 2:8, and the hope of glory when Christ appears in 3:4 as some of the passages in Colossians that breathed life into them during this study.
We also recently hosted our second ever alumni panel after our most recent Friday night leadership lecture series (which we call Venture). It was so great to hear faithful testimonies and wisdom from five CU Caritas grads walking closely with the Lord!
At this same event, a student who was attending for his second time ever shared during our testimony time about how God had blessed him the prior week. That prior Friday night’s lecture was on relying on the Spirit to speak to and pray for one another prophetically, so that we might build one another up in love (1 Corinthians 14:1, 4). After the teaching, we split up into groups of 3-4 students to pray for one another and encourage each other from Scripture. This student received such peace and direction through the prayers of another student that he asked if he could share it with the whole group the following week! Thank you, Lord, for giving these students the joy of building one another up through Spirit-led prayers and encouragement!
We would love for you to pray for our students, that the Lord Jesus would bless our community with all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and that He would mature our students through mentorship, encouragement, and humble and faithful exercise of those gifts, in reliance on Him. Our students need these gifts so they can serve one another in love and effectively minister to the thousands at Stanford, for Christ’s glory!
