Happy 2018 & thank you for your continued prayers for us! We are grateful for your steadfast support in prayer, and I want to thank you for praying for our staff team and our students over Christmas break.

We thank God for a strong start to the semester! Last week we welcomed Jane back from maternity leave, and we also enjoyed hosting about 19 of our student leaders at our Ministry Center on MLK Monday for a training event where we enjoyed dinner, worship, prayer, and some team breakout groups. The students were not only hungry, but they were hungry to be together! Our Co-President asked the team leaders to think through how we'll offer Jesus Christ to the campus this semester.

Here are our current prayer requests:

  • As class schedules are being finalized, pray for students to prioritize time for Bible Courses and Christian Community this spring. We're even praying that our Bible Course enrollment will grow to 75 members. Pray for new and returning students to make this commitment as they hear about it from the staff, their friends, and the Lord!
  • Pray for our student exec team as they plan outreach and prayer initiatives for the semester. This requires thoughtfulness, teamwork, vision, leadership, and the Holy Spirit's help! We're asking the Lord for at least 6 new believers in Christ and also for students to grow in rich fellowship with God, especially in prayer. To that end, our staff is also excited to teach the "Seeking God Lifestyle" to freshmen for the first 5 weeks this semester. This course will stir students to develop spiritual habits that will not only sustain them here, but for a lifetime of loving and serving God.
  • Pray for the Christian Union NEXUS Conference, Feb 23-25! This annual conference will bring together the Christian Union ministries from all our campuses. Our goal is to bring 35 students (almost there), and our prayer is that these students strengthen their Christian friendships and catch a vision for moving forward a band of networked and engaged Christian leaders. Pray for a pervasive sense of unity over the whole weekend.

Finally, we need your prayers to have the wisdom, grace, and strength to speak into these gifted lives on a daily basis. We are just a small part of God's overall plan, but it's our joy to partner with you and the Lord in it all.

Warmly,

Clay Cromer
