Dear friends in Christ,

We are in our final stretch of Spring term at Dartmouth. It’s been a very full term with much going on. Last weekend, our socials team put on a field day a couple of miles from campus at a place called Storrs Pond. Somewhere around 45 students showed up for an afternoon of volleyball, soccer, and a fairly new sport called “Spike ball.” Some students also took advantage of kayaking and canoeing on the pond. We were excited that students took the liberty of inviting their friends who are not involved in Christian Union to the event. A group of seven freshman (19s) football players came for the day because one who is very committed to Bible Course invited them. While we’re on the subject, please pray for the Dartmouth football team, that the Lord would continue to draw them into Bible Courses and into the Christian community at large.

We also ask for your prayers for the Christian Community as they think and pray through how to respond to prevalent racial issues on campus. We have had students coming into our office all week asking what to do about a protest that took place last week. How do we as Christians promote social justice in a way that is loving, unifying and looks different from the way the world around them responds to such issues? Please pray for wisdom for us as we guide the students in how to have zeal with knowledge in these situations. Pray that our leaders would promote conversations among students who seek to understand and empathize with others. Pray that all Christian ministries would be a united front, not meaning that they all think exactly alike, but that they can act with the same purpose and desire to see people healed of brokenness through the redemption of Christ and seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness on Dartmouth’s campus. Pray for perseverance and sustained growth in this area, that our students would think long-term when it comes to change.

Please also be praying for our seniors (16s) as they prepare to graduate in June, that the Lord would equip them to take what they’ve learned through their years in Christian Union, into their workplaces and grad schools. That they may be faithful in their walks with Christ, prioritizing Him and His Kingdom above all else. Pray for community where they are going and that they would quickly find a church body in which they might serve and grow.

As always, we are deeply grateful for your support and petitions on behalf of Dartmouth.

Sincerely,

Julia Carlisle
