Saturday, April 12th, 2014. 7pm
Scholastic Auditorium, 557 Broadway, New York City
In celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ at Easter, Christian Union—with co-sponsors The Park Forum, the Bible Literacy Project, and Women's Bible Society of New York—presents spokenWord2014, the Ivy League Bible Memorization Challenge Finale. This unique event will be held Saturday, April 12 (the night before Palm Sunday) at the Scholastic Auditorium in New York City, at 7:00 pm (see map below). The public is invited to attend.
Tickets for spokenWord are $10; click here to purchase. If you have a promo code, click here.
This evening will feature unforgettable presentations by students who will creatively bring God’s Word to life, making the Word of God even more real to everyone who attends.
The spokenWord2014 Challenge is designed to encourage Ivy League students, guests who attend the Finale, and all who will watch the presentations online, to discover the value and beauty of memorizing God's Word. Students—or teams of up to four students—who enter the contest and are selected as finalists will present, in a creative spoken word format, from memory, a Biblical text from one particular passage or from a range of passages in the Old and/or New Testaments.
The presentations will be judged, and a winner selected, at the conclusion of the evening. As the judges deliberate, guests will enjoy uplifting music.
