Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Billy Graham 1918-2018

billy graham 1

"Billy Graham was a spiritual giant whose leadership adorned the doctrines of Christ and brought salvation to thousands and perhaps millions," said Christian Union Founder and CEO Matt Bennett in a statement he released last week upon learning of Rev. Graham's death. "May God raise up countless others to expand his work as he enters into his reward with the Savior."

Mr. Graham's body will lie in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda today and tomorrow, and his funeral service will be live-streamed on Friday via the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website.

Un-Masked: Lenten Musings

By Justin Doyle

From ChristianUnion.org

The masks we wear, that I wear, are heavy and deceiving. Do you know these masks that I speak of? We all wear them, Christian and non-Christian alike. These spiritual masks acting as though we are thriving when, in reality, we are dying inside; pretending sin is foreign to us even though it is alive and well etc... lie and tell us something real is accomplished by our wearing them, that we’re better, healthier, more spiritual than we really are.

Christian Union at Columbia's New Home

From Christian Union

ministry center 3

Please join us in praising the Lord for the successful acquisition of the building that will become the Christian Union Ministry Center at Columbia. Due to the competitive NYC real estate market, the location has been kept under wraps until now: 529 West 113th Street, just one block from Columbia University’s Butler Library. The center will provide urgently needed space for a ministry engaging more than 200 students. After renovations, God willing, the center will be ready for the 2018-19 academic year, for Bible courses, prayer meetings, freshman outreach dinners, social events, and faculty offices.

Happiness and Man at Yale

By Kyle Smith
From National Review

The most popular class in the 316-year history of Yale College is called PSYC 157, "Psychology and the Good Life." According to this recent article in the National Review, one student called the class a "cry for help." The popularity of this class is helpful in understanding the culture at Yale and the schools where Christian Union ministers.

Prayer Requests

UNIVERSITY MINISTRIES

Harvard College has placed Harvard College Faith and Action (the autonomous student organization that is supported and resourced by Christian Union) on administrative probation for a year, citing its leadership standards and its relationship to Christian Union. Please pray for wisdom and unity for the students involved, and for wisdom for the Christian Union faculty who minister at Harvard.

CITY MINISTRIES
Last week’s Nexus Conference encouraged seniors to think and plan more specifically what life and faith will look like after they graduate. Please pray for these seniors as they prepare for the next stage of life—whether that is graduate school or the workplace—that they will remain strong in faith during this transition, thinking profoundly about their calling, and working with others to bring about transformation in our world.

DAY & NIGHT
Use our new Prayer Guide to pray for greater nationwide Christian devotion. Join us, and thousands of American Christians, to intercede for our churches and our country.
