For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

"Unplanned": How Abby Johnson's Story Exposes Both Abortion and Complicit Silence

By John Stonestreet & David Carlson
From BreakPoint
unplanned 1The movie “Unplanned,” a Pureflix biopic about former Planned Parenthood director-of-the-year Abby Johnson, had more than a few “unplanned” obstacles to overcome for its opening weekend. First, the Motion Picture Association of America gave the film an R-rating because of its depiction of abortion. As I mentioned on The Point last month, how tragically ironic ...

Bathed in Prayer

By Sarah Camp
From ChristianUnion.org
In February, Christian Union hosted more than 200 undergraduates at Nexus 2019: The Christian Union Conference on Faith and Action. Students from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale explored how God could use their aspirations for His glory and be "courageous in the ways of the Lord". Nexus was bathed in prayer. This year, in addition to the 24-hour prayer room, students could sign up to be prayed over personally for an hour. Some students reported these experiences in fervent prayer were motivating them to intercede more on behalf of their campuses.

There’s No Place Like Heimat: How the Culture We Consume Reflects Our Desires

By Elizabeth Schmucker

heimat 3What makes The Wizard of Oz lovable and relatable is not the fantastical travels of Dorothy and her loyal dog, Toto, but the desire to return to a familiar and trusted home—even if that home might be with an aunt and uncle in the middle of bleak Kansas. Even if we have never been...

No Mere Superman

By Geoff Sackett
From ChristianUnion.org
When Jesus was a baby, did he soil his undergarments? As an adolescent, did he cry? When he was full-grown, was he ever angry? No disrespect is meant by these questions, but they do point out the full humanity of Jesus, without in any way reducing his full divinity. And they show that it was entirely fitting for the second person of the Trinity to enter our world as a baby, who developed physically into a mature man. Such an entrance shows us that Jesus really was “one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).

Prayer Requests

UNIVERSITY MINISTRIES
The celebration of Easter and Christ's resurrection is a great time of renewal and revival among God's people. Please pray that our students will carry their faith with renewed courage and boldness and find many opportunities to share the truth that Jesus is alive. Pray that all our ministry teams experience a surge of energy (physical and spiritual) as the pace quickens through the remainder of the spring term.

CITY MINISTRIES
Please pray with us for the media industry and the role it plays in the flourishing of all. Pray for godly men and women to serve with faithfulness, courage, and farsightedness to shape a vocation key to all—believers and non-believers alike. Pray for those in this industry to walk uprightly and righteously, and for them to speak and live the Gospel in all its fullness each day.

DAY & NIGHT

Pray for God's guidance as we prepare for our next major event, The Great Experiment, from June 1-10, 2019. Pray that participants will be hungry for a transforming work of God in America. It is our desire that many participants will want to invite others, including their friends and families, to join this growing movement of Christians across the nation who are pursuing God wholeheartedly. May the devotional videos and materials we are preparing bring glory to God and be a blessing and encouragement to many.
