Princeton University

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am writing to you on a cold January day here in Princeton. The students here are just finishing their exams, which they have been completing, along with final papers, over the last three weeks. In this letter, I want to update you on the ministry that has been happening here, as well as alert you to several specific ways you can pray for us.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am writing to you from a small café on Princeton’s campus where many of our ministry fellows meet with students. It is not uncommon to see a ministry fellow at a table with a student, often with a Bible open, in this spot. This is one aspect of our ministry that your prayers and financial support enables—regular one-on-one discipleship of students. I personally just finished meeting with a student, studying the book of 1 Samuel together. In part, due to these meetings, this student has gone from having deep doubts about the Christian faith to becoming a Christian leader on campus. This has been extremely encouraging. Thank you for your partnership which allows for this kind of one-on-one discipleship to happen!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am writing to you after just meeting with one of our student leaders named Tyler. In our times of discipleship together we are currently looking at the book of Matthew. I have been meeting with Tyler regularly for over a year now and through our ministry he is becoming a strong Christian leader. Of course, these meetings are just a small part of the ministry—all of which is enabled by your generous support.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As I write to you today, there is a clear cool breeze in the air—a clear indication that Fall has finally arrived. Here in Princeton we are now well into the semester, with midterms right around the corner for our students. In the midst of the busyness here, God has been very faithful—he has helped get us off to a good start with a successful freshman campaign. In this letter, as usual, I wanted to update you on the freshman campaign as well as give you an update of some individual prayer requests that we have.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am writing to you today in the midst of our Freshman Campaign which we have been undertaking for just under two weeks. In this letter, I want to update you on our Pre-Retreat and Freshman Campaign and then share several specific prayer requests with you.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As I am writing you today, it is a beautiful day in Princeton. The weather is becoming cooler—a clear sign that that summer is coming to a close. Our staff recently returned from our annual “Christian Union Faculty and Staff Conference.” This was a conference for all Christian Union’s ministry faculty as well as our support staff. We had a wonderful, encouraging time of seeking God together through prayer, as well as a time of training and equipping.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As I am writing you, it is a beautiful summer day here in Princeton. As you might expect, our ministry schedule looks somewhat different during the summer months. As a ministry staff, we take this opportunity to continue building relationships with students and also to prepare and recharge for next year. In this letter, I want to specifically highlight several of our summer initiatives and ask for your prayers for those initiatives which are still ongoing.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As I am writing you this letter, Princeton’s reunions and graduation ceremonies have just taken place. It has been an eventful few days as we have connected with alumni and friends of our ministry and watched our seniors graduate. Both reunions and graduation prompted me—and others, I’m sure—to reflect on what this ministry means and has meant to so many. As always, thank you for your prayers and financial support which makes our ministry possible!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As I write to you, students here in Princeton are just finishing up their final exams and commencement and reunions are just a few days away. As the academic year comes to a close, we at Christian Union Princeton conclude the year with gratitude for your prayers and support for making ministry here possible. Over the past month, we have seen God work in the lives of our students. This has been happening both by large-scale, ministry-wide events as well as through individualized, one-on-one interactions with our students.
