Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
— Peter 2:11-12

How Do Christians Fit Into the Two-Party System? They Don’t

By Tim Keller
From New York Times

What should the role of Christians in politics be? More people than ever are asking that question. Christians cannot pretend they can transcend politics and simply “preach the Gospel.” Those who avoid all political discussions and engagement are essentially casting a vote ...

Changing Society's Views on 'Hooking Up'

By  Arthur Goldberg
From Public Discourse

03 hookup

Since the 1960s, we have witnessed an incredible liberalization of sexual mores. The ubiquitous use of sex in advertising, movies, television, and fashion—sex as entertainment, sex as economic incentive, sex as substitute for thought, for communication, for edification—has given a green light and public blessing to the unashamed use of sex as a crass commodity of self-gratification...

Prayer Requests

UNIVERSITY MINISTRIES

Praise God that Christian Union Universities has successfully welcomed the incoming freshman classes and has achieved the highest enrollment in Bible Courses to date. Pray that the students will remain faithful to their commitment to study God’s Word together while facing challenging class schedules. Pray also that the ministry leaders will be able to effectively disciple the students to walk with the Lord.

CITY MINISTRIES
Please join us in praying for our young professionals in New York following our kick-off event, that God would strengthen the bonds of love and unity among them, that new connections made would become bonds of friendship, and that preexisting friendships would deepen. Pray also for those who have not yet found community in New York and D.C., that God would draw them. Pray for the CU Cities team, that they would have wisdom and discernment about how to strengthen and grow this budding community. Finally, please ask God to raise up leaders and mentors to shepherd those who join our community this year.

DAY & NIGHT
Praise God for His work through The Great Experiment. Pray for the 4,000+ American Christians who are diligently seeking God every day in a focused way this month. Pray for their boldness as they share Jesus daily with their friends, family, co-workers, and strangers. It’s not too late to join The Great Experiment and become part of God’s coming revival.
