City Celebration to Acknowledge His Great Name

by erin conner, writer and communications associate

In May of 2025, the “Jesus is Lord Parade” will unite churches, ministries, pastors, and Christians across New York City and across the nation to lift up and glorify the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. For His glory and by His power, the parade is anticipated to be the largest Christian parade in the history of the US.

As one of the most influential cities in the world, NYC draws the attention of many. Glorifying God publicly in the center of Manhattan is a powerful way to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord of all. The aim of the parade, according to its primary sponsor, the Heritage Pastors Association, is for God to be honored and for hearts, enthusiasm, and joy of Christians to be boosted in the city, across the nation, and perhaps even around the world as thousands of churches, pastors, attendees, and ministries celebrate all that Jesus Christ has done throughout history for the well-being of humanity. God's blessings are not often recognized or celebrated in large public celebrations in the United States, yet it is because of Christ that millions have received forgiveness, salvation, hope, health, and freedom.

"Before the coming of Jesus Christ to earth, the world largely worshiped wooden idols, enslaved to every odd superstition. Moreover, since Christ on earth, millions have been lifted out of poverty; millions have received education; women have been recognized as equal to men; much of the world has acknowledged the inherent dignity of all races, leading to the abolition of slavery; and thousands of hospitals and clinics have been established. It is simply undeniable that Christianity has contributed to the growth of humanity. And no one other than Jesus Christ deserves to be honored for bringing so much life to the world," says Matt Bennett, founder of Christian Union and Heritage Pastors Association.

Together, Heritage Pastors Association and many initial participating churches in the NYC area hope to spread the message of the love, peace, and joy of salvation with live gospel music, floats, costumes, banners, and flags. Churches, Christian organizations, and individuals are warmly invited to participate through entering a group or float in the parade, through sponsorship, or through attendance and vendor opportunities.

As preparations begin for this public celebration of  Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, leaders, Matt Bennett along with film producer, Dimas Salaberrios, invite interested Christians to join this unique opportunity to vigorously seek God together for revival and the advancement of His Kingdom by uniting believers across denominations in their love of the Lord. Initial participating churches in the New York City region include the following:

Abounding Grace Ministries
Bethel New York
Beraca Baptist Church
Church of the City
Christ Community Church
Every Nation Church
Jesus Week
March for Jesus
New Beginnings Church
New Greater Bethel Church
