Hello from Dartmouth,

It’s hard to believe we’re already in week 4 of the winter term! It’s been a full one so far. Thank you for your prayers for our Winter Conference. It truly was a blessed weekend of fellowship, growth, and fun!

We were worried after it got into the 50s on the Friday of the conference that there wouldn’t be snow for tubing down the giant hill at the retreat center, but God answered our prayers and gave us a fresh layer of snow on top of ice for Saturday, which made for some intense tubing for our students! We were pleased to see many freshmen (‘21s) there who all seemed to have a great time bonding with one another. The seniors (‘18s) also were well represented and it was encouraging to see them investing time in the underclassmen. The four of us, Zach, Chase, Dori and I focused the weekend on the theme of peace. Chase spoke the first night on Romans 5 emphasizing the peace we have with God through Christ. I followed up with leading the students through a contemplative time of prayer over the same passage. Saturday morning, Dori spoke on the peace that we are called to have with one another and Saturday night, Zach gave a message on the peace that we’re to have with the world. It was a gospel-focused weekend that I think we all needed. Praise the Lord for meeting us in those 2 short days!

We invite you to pray for the Lord to be honored in our Bible courses as we teach Romans to the sophomores (‘20s) and juniors (‘19s). Pray that they would walk away from this study knowing the gospel, how to articulate the gospel and that they become people who are radically obedient because of their faith in the story of Jesus. Pray for the freshmen as they go through the Seeking God study and learn how to cultivate spiritual disciplines that help them grow in their relationship with the Lord. And pray for our seniors (‘18s) as they go through the vocational preparation course that they would leave college with a solid biblical worldview on vocation and lifestyle, that they would approach their vocations with prayer and a genuine desire to love God and others through their work.

Thank you,
