Christian Union
Greetings!

As we begin the spring semester, I want to encourage you to continue praying for the Christian Union ministry at Harvard Law School (HLS) and our student group, Coram Deo Law. This semester will bring its own share of possibilities and challenges. And we know that success in both requires the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and our faithful submission to him. So please join us in praying that the Lord's work continues to bear fruit in the lives of our students and on the HLS campus.

For an update from the winter break, I want to mention just a few points. All of our students have applied for positions this coming summer that will help determine their future course as lawyers. And our 1L's know that performance in their first year has a disproportionate impact on future summer opportunities. So this spring semester brings the possibility of some truly remarkable experiences and the challenges of unreasonable expectations and anxiety. Yet we believe our students are positioned to help one another bring their work and their worries to the throne of grace, trusting the Lord for all things. In fact, the men and women have already formed their Bible Groups and we are beginning our weekly meetings. Moreover, this semester holds the hope of the Lord adding to Coram Deo Law and his kingdom work here through new students and new believers.

For the specific ways you can pray this month, I am listing the requests from the winter break. I will provide more ways to pray over the next few months. But the following matters are critical for the advancement of the kingdom of Christ through Coram Deo Law. And so we covet your fervent and steadfast prayers:

Evangelism
Pray that the Lord will bless our preparations for an emphasis on evangelism this spring. As the membership of Coram Deo Law increases, we desire to see a corresponding increase in our efforts to bring the gospel to the rest of the HLS community. Yet this school and campus present unique challenges. And we want to adorn the gospel of grace with the love and peace it produces even as we might be called to stand firm against various forms of persecution that the gospel inevitably brings with it.

Student Leadership
Pray that some of our current students will have the vision and time to step into leadership positions with Coram Deo Law. By mid-spring, we hope to have in place the leaders who will take this group forward starting next fall.

Official Recognition
Pray that these new leaders will have favor with the law school as they apply for official recognition as a student organization on campus. It is not necessary for gospel ministry here, but having official recognition provides access to resources (communication, events, etc.) that we would use to extend Coram Deo Law's presence and influence for the sake of the gospel.

Michael Wilkinson
Christian Union Ministry Director
