The Great Awakening of 1727

Tim Keller has written that "over the last three centuries, revivals have had a great impact. Between 1730 and 1830 successive movements of the Holy Spirit brought a large proportion of the population into the churches. These awakenings are not ultimately the result of marketing or organization. They come, by God’s grace and in his time, in response to extraordinary prayer." We are calling on believers everywhere to once again pursue extraordinary prayer. In the coming months, we will occasionally highlight videos that remind or teach us how God has moved powerfully in the past. In this video, Dr. J. All of the campuses where Christian Union operates are or will be welcoming first-year students in the coming weeks. Pray for a rich harvest from the ministry's freshman campaign and efforts to connect new students to Christian community. It is a labor of love! Join us in praying that every freshman will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and take a step toward growing in faith and godly wisdom.

CITY MINISTRIES
We're grateful as we see recent graduates and seasoned professionals alike living out faith throughout New York. Conversations about the Gospel, pursuit of righteous living, engagement at many levels in the pressing issues of the city are all visible and growing. Pray with us for this to increase. Also, CU Washington DC hosts its Fall Kick-Off on September 9. Please pray for this to be a successful launch to our fall events and groups in this key city.

Praise God for moving His people to humble themselves and seek His face.
