Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I pray this email finds you well! April has been a busy season in the life of our ministry here at Brown University. We have officially transitioned student leadership over to a new group, who is excited to come together and dream of what God might do on College Hill next year. We had the opportunity to take our first graduating class of seniors on a retreat, April 13 - 14, to celebrate their four years here at Brown and the fact that they are the first group of students to ever be involved with our ministry, a ministry which began the fall of 2014. Much of what our ministry is today has to do with these graduating seniors’ involvement, leadership and vision for what God could do in and through them in their short time in Providence. This is definitely a milestone to celebrate!

Along with transitioning leadership and celebrating what God has done through the seniors, we finished up Bible Courses, helped facilitate an inter-fellowship prayer/worship night on April 13, gathered students across campus for prayer and fasting and are planning an inter-fellowship outreach event in which our students will deliver cookies across campus in response to texts they receive with a question about God and/or faith. All of this excitement has been quite a whirlwind, but we have seen God’s guidance and felt his presence all along the way!

In light of all of this, could you pray with us for the following:

Text a Cookie Outreach Event

As I described briefly above, we’ll be hosting this outreach on May 7. Please pray that the Spirit of God would prick the heart of those students who will be texting us questions about faith. Pray that He would prepare them to hear the gospel. Pray also for our students who will be delivering cookies, that God would prepare them to give a good word for the hope they have in Jesus.

Revival

One of the core values of Christian Union is seeing God bring revival across this nation and the world. Lately, there’s been a strange but amazing “coming together” of various Christian groups on Brown’s campus. If you’ve ever read much about past revivals, you’ll know that those movements of God are characterized by a unity found in the body of Christ. I have no idea what God is up to on campus – if it is something of a revival or not – but He is obviously up to something. Please pray that God’s Spirit would continue to awaken these students’ hearts, that they might see that God is calling them into something incredible here at Brown, that they might join Him in whatever it is He is doing for his name’s sake, whether that be a full out revival, or not. Pray that students who are far away from God would come to Him, receive his forgiveness and follow after Jesus, wherever it is He might lead them.

As always, we are so thankful for you. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. May God meet you in this season of life, lavish you with his unending grace and lead you into places that continue to help you to look more like Jesus.

In Christ,
