Jordan CooperChristian Union Ministry Fellow at Cornell
Jordan Cooper is an ordained Lutheran pastor and theologian from Western Massachusetts. He graduated from Geneva College with a B.A. in Biblical Studies, and then continued his studies through the Wittenberg Institute, the American Lutheran Theological Seminary, and most recently the South African Theological Seminary to obtain a PhD in Systematic Theology. He served in congregational ministry for five years before receiving his call to serve the students at Cornell University. He has also authored several books and articles, and produces a weekly podcast about theology.
Jordan has a wife and two young boys. Along with theology and philosophy, he enjoys drinking quality coffee, playing video games with his sons, and watching or reading anything related to Star Wars.

Lisa Cooper graduated from Geneva College with a BA in English Literature, then went on to study theology at the American Lutheran Theological Seminary, earning an MA in Religion. She is a freelance writer of both practical and academic theology, and she is the editor of The Evangel, the magazine of the American Association of Lutheran Churches. She has served in young adult, women’s, and children’s ministries over the years as a pastor’s wife and she is trained deaconess. Lisa is interested in the intersection of literary theory and theology, and cares about cultural engagement from a Christian perspective.
Lisa has two young boys, Jacen and Ben, and is married to Jordan who also works for Christian Union at Cornell. She is passionate about writing, and has published multiple poems in literary magazines. Other favorite pastimes include: playing guitar, singing, reading, drinking coffee, baking, and making costumes and toys with her kids.

Liz earned her BA in Geology from The College of Wooster, where she was an All-American diver, and she earned a Masters degree in Secondary Science Education from The University of Virginia. She worked as a middle school science teacher for six years before taking time off to be at home with her children.
Liz is married to Jim. They have two children, JT and Ella. In her free time, Liz enjoys the outdoors, hiking, cooking, dance, music, reading, and watching JT and Ella play golf and lacrosse. Liz has always been active with the ministry at Cornell, and in 2016 she joined the Christian Union staff.
