Dear CU Vita Cornerstone Partners and other friends of the ministry,

Christian Union Vita has begun to study the Gospel of Mark and it has been such an encouragement to see the steadfast love of God and our sure hope in “the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God” (Mark 1:1). While it is true that economic, social, and political uncertainties abound in our country, our students and ministry faculty have an unshakable foundation and enduring peace through our Lord Jesus Christ, who has accomplished everything for our salvation.

I am happy to report that the situation with respect to the virus at Cornell seems to be improving. The infection rate remains very low and students are getting accustomed to the guidelines and new campus dynamics. However, it is still very difficult for our group to gather for meaningful fellowship due to restrictions on larger gatherings. While the situation is still less than ideal, our students understand that by abiding by these rules they are loving their neighbor and doing everything possible to keep the virus from spreading. The ministry faculty are thankful that small group gatherings are possible and are taking advantage of this with Bible courses, prayer meetings, and other social events.

Thank you for praying:

  • For our student leaders, that they will have the wisdom and perseverance to navigate the difficult circumstances brought about by the virus, and that they will keep their eyes fixed on Jesus as they serve their friends.
  • For our incoming freshmen, thanking God for them and praying they will continue to develop solid friendships and be encouraged in Christ through our ministry.
  • For our students, that they will keep Jesus first in their hearts and minds and know the joy and peace he provides, and that they will be disciplined and pursue excellence in the work God has called them to as students at Cornell.
  • For our Gospel of Mark Bible courses, that God would speak powerfully through his Word and transform our students into the image of his Son, and for his service.
  • For Cornell University, that the virus infection rate would remain low, and that many across the campus would come to know and trust Christ for salvation.
  • For our staff, that we would have God’s wisdom and love to lead, teach, and mentor our students well, for His glory.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer for Cornell and the students of Christian Union Vita!
