This week is our first full week with the students after winter break, and it is starting with a bang. This weekend we are heading to Refreshing Mountain near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for a weekend retreat. Nearly 50 students will be seeking the Lord’s presence and renewal, and we are hopeful for a filling of His Spirit as we worship, pray, and fellowship.
As we go, would you pray for the before, during, and after of the retreat:
- That we would be “filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5.18) as we gather together to worship.
- For renewal of relationships after the winter break. Our fellowship time is always sweet. In the midst of conversations, may the words of the Gospel be ever-present.
- For deeper affection for Christ, and a greater joy as we walk in faith together, seeking His presence on the campus of Penn.
- That we would have unction in the Holy Spirit upon our return to campus, with the words of our hope in Christ continually on our lips, and that our students’ presence would be a salve to their friends and dorm-mates throughout this term. Please pray that our lives would be so richly Christ-centered and sacrificial that the entire university would mourn if we weren’t present.
- For our Bible Courses, and the student leaders therein, as they commence in full next week. Our Freshmen will be going through the Seeking God Lifestyle Bible course. Pray that as we collectively draw near to God, He would draw near to us! (James 4.8).
