Dear Prayer Partners of CU@Penn,

The rhythm of the semester has commenced, with mid-terms, clubs, and activities now in full force. One of the challenges for our students this semester is to “seek first the kingdom,” in the sense of taking 2 set times per day of prayer, Scripture reading, and worship. We’ve noticed that students are looking for structure, not in the rote sense of going through the motions, but in developing habits. As a few of our students prepare to participate in the Broad Street Run (a 10-mile race here in Philly), they have to set aside times for training. Our running the race of faith requires time set apart for training as well. Would you pray…

  • That our students would have hearts that long for the presence of Christ, and would seek Him diligently throughout the day, but particularly in times set apart for communion with Him.
  • For continued momentum in our weekly Philia meetings. Attendance has been very good, and we are hopeful for continued participation as we fellowship.
  • For the upcoming all-campus worship and Vince Vitale evangelism outreach meetings we have scheduled for our next 2 Philia gatherings. Pray for hearts to be prepared, even now, to hear and receive the Gospel of grace.
  • That our apple-cider outreach on Locust Walk would bear fruit. Please pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to lead non-believing students to Jesus Christ and also please pray for encouragement for Fuji and our students as they provide this wonderful ministry to Penn’s campus.
  • For the upcoming Sex & Spirituality Bible Course for Freshmen. Pray that the Holy Spirit would convict and comfort, and that students would be taught, corrected, rebuked, and trained in all righteousness through our study of the Word.

We don’t take your prayers for granted. Your contending in prayer on our behalf sustains us as we proclaim the Gospel and disciple students here at Penn. Thank you!

By His grace,

in Christ our King,

Tucker Else
