Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” (John 1:14)

Blessings to you during this season of Advent! At this time, we and our students are reflecting on Christ’s incarnation that we might become like him and have eternal life. We trust that during this season you will also be able to reflect on this profound truth that God dwelled among us in the person of Christ.

In the past month, we have been finishing our study of Colossians in our Bible Courses. In our Bible Courses, we have had rich and significant discussions with our students about this book, especially its proclamation of the supremacy of Christ and how this truth relates to all of life. In addition to these discussions, there are two other especially noteworthy items that we want to highlight. First of all, for the second year we have had the opportunity to give ESV Study Bibles to our Freshmen students. Through the gift of a generous donor, we were able to give away 65 Study Bibles this year. The second thing I’d like to highlight is our preparation for our annual Ski Safari. Each year Ski Safari gives us the opportunity to spend a week away with our students to build community and be challenged in God’s word. We are excited once again to bring this opportunity before our Nova students. So far, we are two-thirds of the way to our goal of 65 students going. Please continue to pray that we are not only able to meet, but to exceed this goal.

Please join with us in praying for the following areas:

New Student Leaders— Please continue to pray that God will give us wisdom as new student leaders are selected. Understandably, leadership transitions are an extremely important time in the life of our ministry, since these leaders will have a profound impact on the ministry.

Spiritus—Spiritus is a new initiative that will involve students from all of the campuses at which Christian Union serves. At this retreat, students will seek the Lord through the spiritual disciplines of prayer, fasting, reading Scripture, and others. As we recruit and prepare for this event, we would ask for your prayers that God will move powerfully among our students at this time!

Thank you for your prayers and financial support! May God richly bless you as we celebrate Christ’s coming!

Grace and peace from our Lord Christ Jesus,,
