Dear CU Nova Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

Greetings from Christian Union Nova!

The days are sunny-bright, and yet quite chilly, as students have begun leaving campus to begin internships and work for the summer. There is a pensive busyness on campus, but also a buoyancy that has in effect made the Melrose Center abuzz while Bible courses end and one-on-one meetings take place to close the year. The personification of resilience and fortitude is at its best!

From students studying throughout the Melrose Center to sharing summer plans with hope, or taking naps and looking for leftover pizza in the fridge, our students have embraced what it means to live in community. That was made even more apparent at a recent senior dinner where close to forty students gathered to share how certain individuals impacted their lives, both spiritually and emotionally, during what was likely the toughest times in college history at Princeton University. These seniors were applauded and appreciated for demonstrating leadership and grace with the love of Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, the study of Romans ended on a high as the freshmen men’s Bible course grew from three participants to nine, while the ladies solidified relationships through candid conversations with each other and their ministry fellows. With transparency, young women spoke of weights and sin, but also embraced Paul’s message of righteousness and newness found in Christ. It has been the kind of vulnerability that few mature adults in Christian community are willing to offer, and yet these students shared because of Christian Union’s heart for discipleship.

Even now, as CU Nova prepares to participate in Reunions, Christian Union at large is preparing to host her first student retreat! For two weeks, students from CU campuses will seek God together with staff at the Dwight L. Moody Center in Northfield, Massachusetts. CU Nova has four students signed up and excited to participate!

For this reason and more, we so appreciate your continued commitment to pray with us and for us in the following ways:

  • Pray for Chris Coppernoll’s smooth transition into his new role as Ministry Director.
  • Pray for the safety of our students traveling all over the world.
  • Pray for our student leader’s spiritual growth over the summer and effective leadership in the fall, as well as Bible course participant’s commitment to study.
  • Pray for strong participation in our Fall PreRetreat, August 31-Sept 3.

Thank you for your constant prayers and support. The Father is sustaining us!

Agapé!
