Hello CU Caritas Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

Warm greetings from Christian Union Caritas!

This Friday is the final day of classes for the Spring Quarter. We praise God that the students we serve have made it through this challenging year! For many of those students, there is nothing but eagerness to cross the finish line, leave this year behind them, and move on to what this summer has to offer. For others, as life slows or as they return home, they will experience afresh the recent loss of loved ones or some other hardship. Please pray for this time of transition for all our students, in all their varied circumstances, that they may “know how to be brought low, and … know how to abound.” Like Paul, may Christ equip them such that they can say, “In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:12–13). Thanks be to God for Christ, his strength, and the hope we share in him regardless of our present circumstances!

Along with a few graduating seniors and co-term students (whom we congratulate!), we are also saying farewell to Abigail Carreon, who has faithfully served Stanford students and taught Christian Union Bible courses for almost three years. Thank you for all the love, kindness, and wisdom you imparted to these students, Abi! To God be the glory! Please pray for these graduates and for Abi, her husband, David, and their soon-to-be-born daughter, Claire, as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

As this very unconventional academic year draws to a close, it won’t be long until we turn our plans and prayers toward next year. The opportunity to welcome new students may be twice as significant as prior years, for the freshman class will be bigger than ever (with so many having deferred a year), and sophomores will be coming on campus for the first time this fall. We feel the weight of the opportunity before us—to show the love of Christ to these students—and we don’t want to squander it. Please pray that God will strengthen and unite all his people among the Stanford community to befriend and welcome these students so that they might experience all the riches of the glory of God in Christ!

We are so grateful to God for your partnership in the gospel!

Warmly,

Justin Woyak
