Hello CU Caritas Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

We thank God every time we think of you, because of your partnership in the gospel with us! We are so grateful to God for the ways you support us in our endeavor, by God’s grace, to make disciples of Jesus at Stanford. We recently took a group of students to Yosemite for two nights over Presidents’ Day weekend. We saw Firefall on El Capitan, hiked together, meditated on the power and beauty of God’s word (Psalm 19) and our need to encourage and be encouraged by one another in Christ daily (Hebrews 3:12-13), prayed, spent time alone with God, enjoyed great food, and more. We thank God for the refreshment and refocusing we experienced, and for your part in making this wonderful weekend possible!

Students are nearing the end of the winter quarter and finals. The pressures students face are significant, and so many struggle to cope. Tragically, a student died this week in what appears to have been a suicide. Please pray for the family and friends of this student, and for all those at Stanford who struggle with the temptation of self harm and the lies that bring these temptations. Oh, how much God loves each student at Stanford, and how few of them know it! And what hope Jesus could bring to each one, and how he longs to do so!

  • Please pray for the good news of Jesus to penetrate the darkness and bring new life at Stanford, for his glory and for the joy of the people he has made.
  • Please join us in praying what we all prayed for together on Monday night: that words may be given to us in opening our mouths boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which we are ambassadors (Ephesians 6:19-20).
  • Please also pray for those on the fringes of our community, that would plug in, hear the word of God, build lasting friendships, and walk in the light and love of Jesus.

We are so grateful to God for you!

Warmly,

Justin Woyak
