Christian Union
Greetings,

Christian Union at Columbia continues to see God’s goodness to our ministry. As you may already know, Christian Union was working tirelessly to acquire a ministry center for Columbia. As of February 13, that purchase was completed, and we will be using the center next semester. We could not be more thankful to each of you for your prayers and sacrificial giving. Our desire is to use this space as a hub for gospel engagement with Columbia University. Please pray that many students would be encouraged in their faith and come to know Jesus through the work that will be done there.

During February, the Valentine’s Day season has had students thinking about love. Unfortunately, our culture perpetuates many unhelpful practices as it relates to dating. Therefore, the staff decided to give a series of talks on relationships this month. We started with a talk that was given by pastor Rasool Berry of the Bridge Church NYC. Rasool spoke on the art and science of Biblically faithful, romantic relationships. Looking closely at the Song of Solomon, Rasool applied its wisdom to pursuing and maintaining Christian relationships. Rasool’s talk was engaging, winsome and highly relatable. Many students were greatly encouraged and more convinced of the wisdom behind doing relationships God’s way.

Here are ways that you can be praying for us:

  • The Nexus Conference is upon us. Thank you for praying for us as we recruited Columbia students to attend. We were able to reach our goal, and over 50 students from Columbia will be attending the conference. Pray that the seeds of faith that will be planted by all the speakers will bear fruit in the lives of all the students in attendance.
  • Please pray for all our campuses. Pray that God would teach us how to proclaim the gospel faithfully and effectively even in the face of controversy.
  • Pray that we as staff can strategically maximize the use of our new ministry center. Our hope is not in a new space to do ministry, but in our God who uses these tools for his own glory. Pray that we would remember that.
