Dear CU Lumine Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,

Greetings from Christian Union Lumine at Columbia! We praise God for partners like you who support the work He is doing through this ministry.

The students are in finals week and seniors are preparing for graduation! It has been a beautiful sight to see seniors in the gowns walking all around campus and Morningside Heights, taking photos, and preparing for graduation in a few weeks.
The month of April was a busy one for CU Lumine. Our students joined in a week of fasting and prayer for Holy Week which ended in an all-night vigil on Good Friday beginning at 11 pm and going into the early morning at 6 am. Over 26 students joined in this all-night time of prayer, worship, and Scripture reading. After a few hours of sleep, our Outreach Team hit the streets of Columbia and engaged in one-on-one dialogue with students on the topic of the resurrection asking the question, “What does Easter mean to you?” The students conducting the interviews shared with each participant the true meaning of Easter and held a small gospel presentation. The week ended with an Easter Sunday dinner and a time of prayer.

All of this was in conjunction with our regular Leadership Lecture Series, Bible courses, weekly prayer schedules, small groups, and one-on-ones! April was an exciting time.

As we look back at the spring semester, we praise God for the ways He truly showed up and ministered to our student body. We saw bodies healed, lives transformed, and minds renewed by the Spirit.

As we come to the close of this semester, please join us in praying for:

  1. Graduating seniors: Pray for them as they transition into life after college. Pray for those starting new jobs, looking for new jobs, or continuing their education.
  2. One-on-one discipleship: Pray for deep, meaningful conversations with students. Pray for those that are struggling in their faith and for those that seek to grow in their walk with God. Pray that God would use these one-on-one times to strengthen and grow individuals.
  3. New Student Executive Team & New Ministry Team Leaders: Pray for the new student leadership team: Chase, Grace-Elleda, Tim, and Ayo. Pray that God would give them wisdom and favor to lead this ministry. Pray for the 17 new student leaders that are helping run the different ministry teams this upcoming semester.
  4. Spiritual hunger and thirst: Pray that the students would have a deep hunger for the things of God: prayer, worship, Christian community, and reading Scripture during the summer.
  5. Raising up new financial partners: we know that we can’t do this ministry without supporters like you. Join us in praying that God would bring new Christ-minded friends of this ministry to help rebuild CU Lumine at Columbia through their financial support.

Thank you for your love and partnership at CU Lumine. We could not do this without your prayers.

Grace and Peace,

Stan Thomas
