...Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made. Isaiah 43:7
We want you to know that we so appreciate your prayers for the ministry of Christian Union at Dartmouth. Thank you for the many ways you present requests to God on behalf of the students. God hears and responds!
Bible Course
The winter term is already in full swing for the students in Hanover! They are as busy as ever with classes, clubs and sports. Although they have a ton on their plate, many are choosing to prioritize Bible course. In fact, even more students want to join Bible Course this term!We praise God for giving students hungry hearts to learn Scripture and know God more deeply. As more are added to Bible Course groups, please pray that they develop genuine friendships with others in their group. Pray also that the students take the time to read the Bible in the midst of their busy week, remembering to "seek first the kingdom and His righteousness" (Matthew 6:33).
As we will continue studying the book of Romans for the next few weeks, please pray that hearts are changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Winter Conference
January 18-20, the students have an incredible opportunity to seek God and make strong friendships at our annual winter conference. The men and women will be separate, providing an opportunity to discuss gender specific issues. As the men spend the weekend with Kevin Collins and Zach Albanese, they will learn what it means to be a man of God in the midst of the Dartmouth culture.
As the women spend the weekend with me, they will learn how the Gospel of Jesus Christ addresses many of the issues girls face. One of the local pastor's wives, Dori Willeman, will also be speaking to the college women at the conference.
We covet your prayers for the students this coming weekend. Pray that God brings exactly who He wants to come on the conference. Pray for salvation, as non-believers will be at the conference. Pray also that students' hearts will be "fertile soil," and that the Word of God spoken will take root in their hearts and bear fruit in their lives.
With Thanks
Thank you for your prayers. Let us pray that God would make His glory known in the lives of these Ivy League students. Let us also pray that His work would not be isolated to Dartmouth's campus, but that students would graduate and then make God's glory known in the variety of influential positions He may place them in.May God's great name be exalted in this nation and the world!
As you continue to pray, may the Lord Himself bless you with His manifest presence in your life. May He fill your heart with the peace that passes all understanding and give you perseverance to seek Him for His glory even in your own life! "...Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." Isaiah 43:7
God bless you!
