Dear Cornerstone Partners and friends of CU Lux,

We are excited to congratulate and welcome the class of 2025 on their admission and arrival at Yale. Our upper-class students have spent the past few weeks preparing activities and creating a supportive atmosphere to welcome the incoming first-year students into our Christian community. A group of students met in the Pennington Center every day last week, writing 500 hand-written notes, which will be distributed across the campus to the freshman class alongside a selection of sweets and a copy of Luke’s gospel.

We are here to be the loving voice and welcoming arms of Jesus to our students. But as Jesus himself put it, the blessing is mutual: “when you welcome a child because of me, you welcome me. And when you welcome me, you welcome the one who sent me” (Mark 9:37).

Prayer points for the class of 2025

  • Peace: that their hearts will be filled with peace during their transition, free of anxiety and full of thanksgiving (2 Thessalonians 3:16).
  • Strength & Courage: that God will give them strength and courage to face the challenges before them (Deuteronomy 31:6).
  • Provision: that God will provide for all their social, material, and spirituals needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)
  • Direction: that they will be directed to embrace what is good and befriend faithfulness (Psalm 37:3).
  • Wisdom: that they will grow in wisdom, which is pure, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits (James 3:17)
  • Love: that they will be filled with the love of God and that divine love will overflow onto others (John 13:34-35).

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer as we are creating a welcoming environment that builds a sense of Christian community and connects the incoming class with God and our CU Lux faith family.

Blessings,
