Adrian Shoonmaker

Vice President, Christian Union Universities

Adrian2021Adrian Schoonmaker began leading in faith-based and non-profit environments in his early 20s. For more than two decades, he has been leading staff and volunteers in universities, NGOs, churches and ministries—even the broadcast journalism newsroom.

Adrian led at Grace during years of rapid change, with budgets, attendance, facilities and personnel multiplying at an exponential rate. Grace was named repeatedly among America’s fastest-growing churches, and one of the “Top 400” most influential churches in the United States.

Adrian majored in Pastoral Ministry during undergrad, then earned two master’s degrees (M.A., Journalism and M.A., Practical Theology), and soon graduates with a doctorate in “Leadership & Ministry Management” from Trinity (“TEDS”) in Chicago. His dissertation focuses on models of spiritual leadership development among West Point cadets.

FujiKimFuji JK Kim grew up in Philadelphia in a pastor's family. He also grew spiritually through a camp ministry as camper, director and trainer of counselors. Another stage of spiritual growth was in the college fellowship of his local church while at Brandeis University. After seven years of seminary (Gordon-Conwell and Westminster in Philadelphia), God intruded into Fuji's life to show how theology and spiritual life are about Jesus and His gospel.

After being ordained in the Korean America Presbyterian Church denomination, he has been serving and planting churches (partly  through CityNet Ministries). Since his last church plant and the advent of children, he completed a Doctor of Ministry project on gospel-driven discipleship.
