This summer the CU New York and CU DC teams were able to connect with, and grow alongside recent graduates and young professionals, many of whom are transitioning into the workplace or graduate programs. These young professionals represent a number of esteemed universities and are eager to mature and step out boldly in faith - in cities which are enormously influential in shaping our culture and norms.

In New York, we concluded our CU in the City - Summer Socials series that ranged from mini golf at Chelsea Piers, giant games of UNO at Clinton Hall, and happy hours around the city. Each of these socials brought moments of laughter and joy - but especially community in a city new to each of them. These were times to ask challenging questions about what it means to live faithfully and with integrity in our personal lives and in our vocations. These were also times to explore what it means to think deeply and “Christianly” about issues like environmental stewardship, God’s attention to detail, and “organizing our loves” in the city that never sleeps.

Further south in Washington, Christian Union DC hosted a number of brunches and happy hours to welcome and draw in recent graduates to life in the capital. DC is where we have the second largest number of Christian Union graduates land for work (after New York) and the opportunity to build a new spiritual community is significant.

These interactions and conversations are central to CU Cities mission, to inspire and encourage young Christians to intently follow the Lord in their professional pursuits, seeking to mature as transformative Christian leaders who act according to His will and heart in their relative fields. These professionals will become influencers in a variety of networks, ranging from finance to music, to tech to academia to media...and more.

Please join us in prayers of praise and thanksgiving for these times of fellowship and opportunities to grow in faith alongside new brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for praying alongside us, as we continue to create opportunities for spiritual growth and redemptive engagement in these cities.
